Workshop Overview

Risk Based Testing (RBT) workshop aims at presenting the way to complete testing in limited time and effort. RBT is a strategy based testing approach and ensures effective testing under practical business environment of releasing software on time.

Major objectives of RBT workshop are to learn through case studies and ilustrations:

  • Using Risk based testing approach to perform effective testing
  • Understanding quality profiling of features
  • Identifying failure modes contributed by different aspects like project, environment etc.
  • Prioritizing, selecting, planning testing using Risk Exposure Factors (REF), Quality Profiling, and Expected Value

Facilitator: Mr. Arunkumar M. Khannur

Mr. Arunkumar Khannur, a Leading Test Expert, brings more than 20 years of professional experience to Software Industry. He has M.Sc in Physics & M.Tech in Computer Science to his credit. He worked for companies such as Wipro, Logica, Planetasia and QAI. At present Mr. Khannur is the Chairman & CEO ISQT Process & Consulting Services Pvt. Ltd.

Mr. Khannur built Dedicated Testing Team of more than 45 people in two companies. He also participated as a member of SIG in SPIN Bangalore on Software Testing & Contributed in benchmarking Test Practices.

Mr. Khannur as a Test Manager in Logica and in Planetasia, built the testing team from scratch and lead the team in defining and implementing test practices and processes. He has benchmarked such practices with other 12 leading companies. He also has contributed in defining innovative build and release strategy to ensure just-in-time release of product; and much more. His experience in Testing is in product, application, e-com service companies. He also presented a pre-conference tutorial in two International Conferences on Software Testing.

He is the Founding member of STeP-IN (Software Test Practitioner India) Forum and actively developed the networking of test practitioners for advanced Testing Practices. He is also instrumental in organizing two International conferences on Software Testing Under STeP-IN Forum.

Mr. Khannur at present is providing Consulting and also conducting workshops. So far 45 companies in eleven countries are benefited by his expertise. At Present He is giving finishing touch to his manuscript on "Structured Software Testing" which will be published in the form of a book in coming months. Mr. Khannur also served as advisory board member of International Institute of Testing, USA.

Mr. Khannur's expertise in Software Testing includes, Test Maturity Model Implementation, Quality Modelling, Quality Profiling, Defining and implementing Test Processes, Structuring Testing Teams, Test Metrics, Testing Standards, Defect Prevention and Management and increasing Software Process Efficiency. He is also providing consulting in these areas.
